Pewter

Pewter was born in January 2009. He was bought as a pet by my father. He’s a Polish rabbit (named for the texture of his coat) – a breed that is notoriously flighty. When I took him on, in Autumn 2011, he was very nervous and would bite to deter hands coming near him. I worked with him to decrease his fear of people and kept an eye out for a suitable companion. He was neutered in Spring 2012 and was bonded with Babbitt at Freshfields Animal Rescue Centre.

Since living with Babbitt, he’s become a different rabbit. He is relaxed, frequently lies down (he almost never lay down fully before) and spends almost all his time within a metre of her. He defers to her in almost everything and licks her face a lot!
